Media Challenge Awarding Ceremony

On February 18, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the United African University of Tanzania-Haneul Hall, we host Ivona Kamuntu and Ally Kamwe At the Media Challenge Awarding Day.

Both have played a measurable role in shaping contemporary media practice in Tanzania strengthening digital newsroom visibility, expanding sports journalism influence, and demonstrating how disciplined personal branding translates into sustained audience growth. Their work reflects a shift from traditional reporting models to strategic, multi-platform storytelling.

For emerging journalists, this session is not symbolic. It is practical exposure to professionals who have converted media relevance into industry impact.

This is more than an awarding ceremony. It is a strategic conversation about standards, growth, and the next phase of Tanzania’s media industry

Hanuel Hall Dedication Worship

At the heart of every strong community is faith, unity, and gratitude. The Hanuel Dedication Worship Service marked a special moment where we came together to give thanks, seek God’s guidance, and commit our journey to His hands.

This gathering was more than a ceremony it was a reflection of our shared belief, hope, and purpose. Through prayer, worship, and fellowship, we dedicated Hanuel to God, trusting Him to lead, protect, and bless every step ahead.
As voices rose in praise and hearts were joined in prayer, the service reminded us that with God at the center, all things are possible. It was a moment of renewal, inspiration, and commitment to walk in faith together.

New Dormitories construction

The University is pleased to share progress on the construction of a new student hostel designed to accommodate 68 students. This project is part of our continued commitment to improving student welfare and expanding on-campus facilities.

Although still under construction, the hostel already represents a major step toward creating a more supportive and inclusive campus environment. Once completed, the facility will provide modern, safe, and comfortable accommodation that allows students to live closer to their classes and campus services.
This project responds to the growing need for on-campus housing and reflects the University’s dedication to long-term development. By investing in this hostel, the University is building not only physical structures but also opportunities for students to succeed.

UAUT Launches “Manna Project” to Provide Free Breakfast for Students and Workers

The United African University of Tanzania (UAUT) has launched the “Manna Project”, an initiative providing free breakfast to students and workers facing financial hardship. Since its inception, the project has expanded to serve nearly 80 people daily, including dormitory students, security guards, Maasai night guards, and construction workers.
UAUT Vice Chancellor, who took office in February last year, has been leading multiple efforts, including university promotion, student recruitment, staff management, policy restructuring, and preparations for meeting the requirements of the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU). Amid these responsibilities, providing free breakfast for dormitory students emerged as a key priority, as many struggled with financial difficulties, often skipping meals. To tackle this issue, the university hired a chef, Samuel, and secured essential ingredients such as flour, cooking oil, and sugar. The meals provided include Mandazi, a popular East African sweet, doughnut-like bread, and Chapati, a flatbread made by rolling and pan-cooking dough. Initially, the project supported 50 students, but its impact quickly grew, now benefiting around 80 individuals daily, including security personnel and laborers working on campus.

Renovation of Girls Hostel

This renovation is more than a physical upgrade it is a renewal of our commitment to providing a space where female students can feel secure, respected, and empowered to pursue their academic goals. The improved facility will offer better living conditions, modern amenities, and a more welcoming atmosphere.

The renovation focuses on creating a clean, well-ventilated, and functional environment that supports both rest and study. Once completed, the hostel will provide a stronger foundation for learning, personal growth, and community among students.
Through this project, the University continues to invest in the well-being of its students and in the future of education. The renovated Girls’ Hostel will stand as a symbol of care, progress, and opportunity for generations to come.
